Let me start this review by saying that I am a big fan of Steve Krenz (click here for his bio) and his first guitar course, Learn and Master Guitar. That may make me biased.
The Learn and Master Blues Guitar Spotlight course is a well rounded blues program that starts with the basics of understanding the 12 bar blues and how to play them in several keys, then quickly jumps into blues chords and scales.
There are 6 fully produced blues guitar DVDs and over 8 hours of blues instruction. Click here to learn more about the DVDs.
Two great bonus features included with Learn & Master Blues are a DVD with two very special interviews with Jack Pearson (Allman brothers band, Delbert McClinton and Faith Hill) and Johnny Hiland (Steve Vai, Sammay Hagar, Toby Keith and more).
These interviews are with two great blues guitarists who are walking the walk right now as professional performing and recording blues guitar players. They offer some great insights into their unique styles, gear special techniques,

The second great bonus included is the Jam Along CD and DVD. These two discs contain professionally recorded and mixed backing tracks for you to play along with either on screen or on your stereo. Practicing along with other instruments is a key learning tool for you to grow as a blues guitar player, and these tracks are just what you need. In all there are 22 professionally produced tracks for you to jam and practice with.

There is also a PDF fully illustrated workbook included with the course. You can view it on your computer or print off a hard copy if you’d like. The work book is a great tool to use while practicing and to review what was covered in the video lesson.
Who’s This Course For
Learn and Master Blues is definitely targeting the mature beginner or intermediate blues guitar player, meaning if you’re an 18 year old looking for some crazy electric blues licks this course isn’t for you. It’s a more traditional electric blues style that blues fan would be used to. There is more content on the DVDs for a beginner, since it starts with the basics, but the intermediate blues guitarist will still find some great stuff about scales, phrasing and creating your own style. Of course the interviews included on the last DVD are great no matter what your current skill level.
The backing tracks supplied on the jam along CD and DVD are worth a third of the price of the entire course on their own and you’ll continue to use them for months after you complete the DVD lessons.
For the $99 price point with a 60 day satisfaction guarantee this course offers great value.
