JamPlay Blues Guitar Lessons Review
JamPlay is probably the largest online guitar lessons website. They’ve built up a catalog of over 400 hours of lessons, many of which are specifically blues.
The blues guitar lessons at JamPlay are taught by 6 specific blues instructors across several different topics including: beginner blues, acoustic blues, finger style blues, bottle neck slide and electric blues.
There’s a nice logic to how JamPlays has laid out their blues guitar lessons. Each teacher has created their own series on the topic they specialize in, for example beginner blues lessons.
In that lesson series there maybe 20 different individual lessons ranging from 15-30 minutes, starting with the basics of the 12 bar blues and moving on to blues chords and scales. By the end of a lesson series you’ve mastered a range of new skills and are ready to advance to another series.
In this way you can start as a beginner at JamPlay and grow you skills to an advanced blues guitarist.
JamPlay offers a detailed practice section on their website where you have access to scale and chord catalogs as well as blues backing tracks. Jam Tracks are important when you’re learning so you can build your own style. I’m not a huge fan of online backing tracks since you have to listen to them on your computer so you need a good set of sparkers to play them loud enough to jam with.
The lesson video quality is top notch. The videos use close up shots and split screen technology to help demonstrate the correct techniques for your left and right hands.

Who’s JamPlay Good For?
JamPlay is good for beginner or intermediate blues guitarists who are computer friendly. There is a lot of content in their membership area and if you’re not a web savvy person you could get a little frustrated and might want to consider the blue dvd course from Learn and Master.
The price point is $19.95 a month and that gets you unlimited access 24 hours a day 7 days a week so the site offers great value for the money.
